Chief Estimator

to lead estimating for Divisions 25–28 systems (Integrated Automation, Electrical, Communications, and Electronic Safety & Security) on commercial and mission‑critical projects. You’ll drive pursuit strategy, estimate development, and preconstruction handoff across delivery methods including DBB, DB, CMAR, and IPD, while building and mentoring a high‑performing team, standardizing estimating processes, and partnering with Operations, Engineering, and Sales to win profitable work.

You’ll collaborate with experienced professionals across engineering, operations, and business development while leading high‑profile projects in sectors such as aviation, healthcare, and higher education, making a measurable impact through innovation, expertise, and leadership.

Base pay range $100,000.00/yr - $125,000.00/yr

Key Responsibilities

Develop conceptual, schematic, DD, and GMP estimates; detailed takeoffs for power, lighting, BAS/BMS, AV, DAS/Wi‑Fi, structured cabling, access control, video surveillance, intrusion, and mass notification.

Lead bid/no‑bid strategy, VE/alternates, and proposal narratives.

Coordinate vendor/subcontractor quotes and scope alignment.

Review drawings/specs, perform scope clarifications, and manage cross‑discipline coordination.

Lead estimate reviews, produce BOE, and execute preconstruction handoff.

Hire, mentor, and develop estimators; implement QA/QC standards and maintain historical cost data.

Required Qualifications

8–12+ years estimating experience with 5+ years on Div. 25–28 systems in commercial or mission‑critical facilities.

Proven wins on $5M–$50M+ systems packages or $25M–$250M+ total project value projects.

Expert knowledge of electrical, ICT, BAS, and security systems; commissioning/integration workflows.

Familiarity with delivery methods (DBB, DB, CMAR, IPD) and contract risk allocation.

Bachelor’s in Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (or equivalent experience).

Preferred Skills & Tools

Certifications: PE, PMP, ASPE/CEP, BICSI RCDD, NICET, LEED GA/AP (preferred).
