Position Summary
As the Lead Product Owner at MPC, you will drive innovation and efficiency within our Refining engineering and project controls capabilities. You will be a strategic thinker with deep knowledge of refining engineering content management, large‑scale project management, and materials & services management. Your role involves collaborating closely with cross‑functional teams to ensure seamless project execution from inception to completion. You will provide insights and guidance that drive portfolio level success, working with stakeholders at all levels and with vendors/partners to align our engineering and project controls capabilities with strategic goals and objectives. Key Responsibilities
Deliver continuous value to customers through compelling and empowering experiences, managing complex or critical products or product families. Lead product roadmap development, prioritize feature releases, and align them with business objectives. Collaborate with Agile teams, stakeholders, and business representatives to identify challenges and ensure successful product strategy execution. Engage senior leaders, resolve issues, and promote alignment across business and operations teams, UX design, product, engineering, analytics, and customer support. Organize stakeholder priorities and align resources, ensuring cadence with customer value, business value, and strategic fit. Prioritize product backlog, processes, and release plan, coordinating interdependencies with scrum teams and across business lines. Ensure team alignment on goals and objectives, manage cross‑team prioritization, and conduct ongoing analysis of product capability themes. Drive product innovation, definition, and deliverable planning, designing new products to meet team and company goals. Communicate product developments across departments, keeping the customer at the heart of all changes. Identify client pain points, define solutions, capture stakeholder concerns, and act as an Agile product champion across the organization. Education and Experience
Bachelor's Degree in Information Systems or equivalent work experience. Product Owner certification required; Product Management certification preferred. 7+ years of relevant product owner experience. Experience in refining or Oil & Gas industry engineering, construction management, or project controls preferred. Experience with ERP systems or enterprise platforms preferred. Skills
