Position Summary As a paralegal, you will play a critical role in organizing cases, preparing legal documents, supporting your team in hearings and trial preparation, and communicating with clients. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, proactive, highly organized, and able to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced legal environment.
Responsibilities
Draft and prepare legal documents, including pleadings, motions, disclosures, discovery requests, and correspondence.
Assist attorneys with case management, calendaring, deadlines, and trial preparation.
Maintain and organize electronic case files and documents within the firm's case management systems.
Communicate professionally with clients, providing updates and gathering information as needed.
Conduct legal research using platforms such as Westlaw.
Assist with preparing exhibits, binders, witness lists, and trial notebooks.
Manage discovery processes, including organizing, reviewing, and summarizing documents.
Coordinate court filing, e-filing, and service processes.
Support attorneys during hearings, depositions, mediations, and trials.
Collaborate with legal assistants and other administrative staff to ensure cases are moving forward efficiently.
Perform other duties assigned to support smooth legal operations.
Qualifications
Associate's Degree, Bachelor's Degree, or Paralegal Certificate
2+ years of paralegal experience in domestic relations (family law) or civil litigation (preferred).
Experience with case management software (e.g., Filevine, Google Calendaring)
Strong writing, proofreading, and editing skills.
Excellent organizational and time management abilities.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Strong client communication skills and professional demeanor.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word and Excel), Adobe, and Mac products.
High Attention to detail and ability to meet strict deadlines.
