The Global Meetings & Events team has an opening for a Global Event Manager to take on the successful delivery of some of the largest events in the region.

The opportunity This position ensures the successful execution of internal and client‑facing events for the firm. This individual follows and promotes firm, business unit and department policies, guidelines and procedures.

Your Key Responsibilities

Consult with meeting sponsor and/or requester to understand logistical requirements of the event

Conduct venue research in conjunction with our preferred meeting management companies and make recommendations on meeting location by taking a detailed brief to ascertain all event requirements and suggest event solution(s)

Comply and promote the firm Supply Chain Services policy

Actively promote the overall objectives of the Travel, Meetings & Events Services team by supporting our overall strategy with every interaction with stakeholders

Manage elements of delegate management using our firm tool, Cvent

Consult with the event program manager to ensure EY brand compliance throughout the event and pre‑ and post‑event communication process

Drive cost efficiencies and negotiations with venues and suppliers, ensuring all value‑adds have been reviewed and exhausted with suppliers

Prepare initial event logistics budget and manage throughout the event lifecycle

Prepare on‑site schedules and run sheets for event logistics for venues and suppliers at the venue

Coordinate with Technology Support to arrange special event production and on‑site technology

Audit and submit for approval any program related invoices and provide full event reconciliation

Responsible for the smooth running of the event on‑site, anticipating any problems/issues and putting in place measures and solutions before they occur

Resolve complex problems effectively with minimal disruption using existing solutions

Act as the main point of contact on‑site for all suppliers, ensuring that all suppliers are providing the agreed level of service and actively resolving any issues

Take overall responsibility for the delegation and direction of the on‑site support team, adjusting planning where necessary

Assist in other areas of Meeting & Event Services as needed

Support and devise ideas/best practices to M&E team to drive process efficiencies as well as contribute creativity on special M&E projects

Using M&E Guidelines and Procedures, make recommendations to internal clients regarding location and logistics on various sized events and initiatives

Recommend solutions and provide guidance to other Event Managers and meeting requesters regarding specific aspects of a large event or initiative

Anticipate client’s questions and be prepared when dealing with internal clients

Skills And Attributes For Success

Minimum five‑seven years of event management experience

Experienced with all Microsoft Office Tools, competency in Excel and PowerPoint; experience using Cvent is desired

Excellent interpersonal and communication skills—must be able to communicate clearly and authentically to senior leadership and stakeholders

Can work independently with minimal guidance

High level of attention to detail and strong organizational skills with the ability to prioritise effectively

Ideally, you’ll also have

In‑depth knowledge and experience running large, logistically complex global events

Good venue knowledge across the US

Knowledge of meeting industry software, including web registration applications such as Cvent

What We Offer You

Comprehensive compensation and benefits package where you’ll be rewarded based on performance and recognised for the value you bring to the business. Base salary in all US geographic locations is $68,900 to $128,800. Base salary for New York City, Washington State and California (excluding Sacramento) is $82,700 to $146,400. Individual salaries are determined by education, experience, knowledge, skills and geography. Total Rewards includes medical and dental coverage, pension and 401(k) plans, and a wide range of paid time off options.

Team‑led and leader‑enabled hybrid model; most external, client‑serving roles work together in person 40‑60% of the time over the course of an engagement, project or year.
