Position Overview
Our well-established construction client is seeking a
Bookkeeper / Accounting Administrator
to support its growing financial operations.
This role is ideal for a detail-oriented, analytical professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys working with numbers, systems, and project data.
You'll play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, managing payroll, handling accounts payable and receivable, and ensuring smooth day-to-day accounting processes.
Experience with
QuickBooks Desktop
and
Buildertrend
are pluses!
Key Responsibilities
Data Entry & Recordkeeping Enter and reconcile invoices, bills, and receipts in
QuickBooks Desktop . Maintain precise job costing and expense tracking using
Buildertrend . Ensure accuracy and timeliness in all financial transaction entries. Payroll Processing
Process weekly payroll for both field and office staff. Coordinate with HR and project managers to confirm time tracking and approvals. Accounts Payable & Receivable
Prepare and process vendor payments and customer invoices. Manage aging reports and follow up on outstanding balances. Support lien waivers, subcontractor documentation, and compliance tasks. Reporting & Reconciliation
Generate monthly financial reports and assist with budget tracking. Reconcile bank statements, credit card accounts, and petty cash. Assist with year-end close and workers' compensation audit preparation. Administrative & Communication Support
Maintain organized documentation and digital records. Communicate with vendors, clients, and internal teams to resolve financial inquiries. Job Requirements
Qualifications
Minimum of
3 years of accounting or bookkeeping experience . Must have worked in the construction industry! Proficiency with QuickBooks Desktop and Buildertrend
preferred by not required. Strong understanding of
payroll processing, job costing, and general accounting principles . High attention to detail with excellent accuracy in data entry. Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a dynamic environment. Strong organizational, analytical, and communication skills. Preferred Skills
Prior experience with construction contracts and lien waivers. Familiarity with general ledger management and audit preparation. Experience processing payroll in compliance with labor regulations.
