Position Overview We’re seeking an experienced
Construction Bookkeeper / Accounting Specialist
who can manage daily financial transactions, maintain accurate job cost records, and process invoices and payments. You’ll work directly with ownership and project managers to ensure financial accuracy and timely billing.
This role is ideal for someone with a strong accounting background who enjoys being hands‑on and involved in the details — without the need to be a CPA.
Key Responsibilities
Enter and manage
vendor invoices ,
purchase orders , and
job cost coding
Process
accounts payable
and
accounts receivable , including check runs and client invoicing
Assist with
progress billings ,
retention tracking , and
change order billing
Reconcile
bank accounts ,
credit cards , and
petty cash
monthly
Support
payroll entry
and track employee time as needed
Maintain
vendor compliance
(W-9s, insurance certificates, lien waivers, etc.)
Prepare financial reports and assist with
month‑end closing
and
WIP reporting
Communicate with vendors, clients, and internal team members regarding payments and billing
Qualifications
3+ years of
bookkeeping or accounting experience , ideally in
construction
or
trade services
Strong understanding of
accounts payable, receivable, and job costing
Proficiency in
QuickBooks Desktop/Online ,
Sage 100 Contractor , or similar
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
Strong organizational and communication skills
Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
High level of integrity and trustworthiness with financial information
