WORK EXPERIENCE INSTRUCTORS or COORDINATORS: Adjunct POOL (college credit) Location: District Wide. Position Type: Adjunct. Closing Date: Open Until Filled.

Position Details: The San Diego Community College District places adjunct (part‑time/substitute) faculty on an ongoing pool. Successful applicants are considered for assignments in the fall, spring, and/or summer semesters. Positions are as‑needed and applicants should live within commuting distance to San Diego.

Major Responsibilities

Provide instruction in accordance with established curriculum and course outlines.

Teach all scheduled lecture and lab classes as assigned by the department.

Maintain accurate records and documentation of student progress.

Be available to students outside of class hours.

Maintain current knowledge in subject matter areas and uphold professional conduct and ethics.

Create a learning environment that encourages discussion of ideas, interests, and issues.

Qualifications

Minimum qualifications for an instructor or coordinator of general or occupational work experience education as defined in Section 55252.

Subject‑area coursework or degree that meets minimum designations in the discipline of work experience education.

Demonstrated cultural competency and sensitivity to diverse backgrounds of students and staff.

Completion of a “Request for Equivalency Form” if degrees are not yet ready, with evaluation of foreign credentials by an approved body (NACES or ACEI).

Licenses / Certifications / Credentials

Official college transcripts (even if degree is not required).

Certificate of Tuberculosis Exam – valid for four years; must be renewed every four years.

Fingerprint clearance (Live Scan) obtained prior to first day of employment.

Proof of eligibility to work in the United States (original documents).

Application Process All applications must be submitted online through the San Diego Community College District job portal. Applicants who meet the minimum qualifications will be placed in the adjunct pool for potential future assignments. Applications are purged approximately one year from submission; an automated notice will be sent for re‑application if desired.
