Job Description:
The Human Resources Manager will oversee daily HR operations, supporting all functions including benefits, employee relations, recruitment, compliance, and performance management. This individual will serve as a trusted advisor to department leaders and act as a strategic business partner in driving employee engagement and organizational effectiveness.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the day-to-day operations of the HR department, ensuring compliance and consistency across all HR programs and policies.
Manage employee relations issues and serve as a resource for conflict resolution, investigations, and coaching for managers.
Oversee recruitment and onboarding activities, partnering with department heads to meet staffing needs.
Administer and reconcile employee benefits, ensuring accurate billing and timely processing.
Coordinate performance management processes, ensuring timely completion of reviews and feedback cycles.
Maintain HR records, compliance reporting, and documentation in accordance with federal and state regulations.
Support audits, policy reviews, and internal communication initiatives.
Utilize HR systems (Paycom or similar) to optimize processes and track HR metrics.
Prepare and manage departmental budgets, invoices, and expense reconciliations.
Partner with leadership to promote employee engagement and retention initiatives.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required.
5–8 years of progressive HR experience with exposure to all major HR functions.
Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience managing at least two direct reports.
Experience working in a unionized or customer service-oriented environment.
Strong knowledge of HR laws and regulations (FMLA, FLSA, EEO, ADA, HIPAA, COBRA, etc.).
Demonstrated experience with benefits administration, billing, and reconciliation.
Proficiency with HRIS systems (Paycom, ADP, Workday, or similar).
Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organizational skills.
HR certification (PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP) preferred.
Background check required (criminal, credit, and SSN verification).
