16 years of experience, may have management experience

10+ years of experience in program acquisition, contract management, or program management, preferably in federal aviation, defense, or government programs.

Proven ability to manage large-scale, multi-disciplinary programs with technical, financial, and operational oversight.

Strong knowledge of federal acquisition regulations, contract negotiation, and proposal processes.

Demonstrated experience managing subordinate program/project managers and leading cross-functional teams.

Proficiency in program budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting.

Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.

Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, including experience interacting with FAA officials and executive leadership.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with FAA modernization programs (e.g., BNATCS, NextGen, ERAM, or similar initiatives).

PMP, PgMP, or other program management certifications.

Familiarity with contract management software, acquisition systems, and compliance tools.

Knowledge of quality assurance and risk management frameworks relevant to federal programs.

Peraton is seeking a Lead Acquisition Specialist to manage and oversee the acquisition lifecycle for BNATCS programs, ensuring successful technical, cost, and schedule performance. This role will support both operational program execution and new business development, including proposals, contracting, and vendor management. The position requires a highly experienced leader capable of guiding subordinate program managers, aligning acquisition strategy with FAA priorities, and delivering mission-critical capabilities.

Responsibilities

Lead the acquisition and management of BNATCS programs, ensuring contract, technical, schedule, and cost requirements are achieved.

Manage subordinate program/project managers and professional teams, providing technical direction, mentorship, and oversight to achieve program objectives.

Support new business development by leading or coordinating major proposals, working closely with pricing, contracts, and proposal teams.

Act as a technical and strategic liaison with vendors, FAA stakeholders, and subcontractors.

Develop, monitor, and control program budgets, including forecasting financial performance and tracking contract expenditures.

Implement and oversee Quality Assurance Programs for products, services, and program deliverables.

Analyze contract requirements, proposals, and modifications to ensure compliance and alignment with FAA priorities.

Prepare and deliver program, project, departmental, and financial reports to management and government stakeholders.

Monitor funding, subcontracts, and contractual obligations to maintain performance and ensure contractual compliance.

Assign staff and resources to tasks, providing guidance and technical direction to ensure timely completion of project milestones.

Identify, assess, and mitigate risks that could impact program cost, schedule, or technical performance.

Maintain continuous engagement with FAA officials and internal leadership to align program execution with evolving requirements and operational priorities.
