Job Description

As a Millwright, you will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, and repair of industrial equipment such as conveyors, pumps, motors, and gearboxes. You will interpret blueprints and specifications to ensure accurate assembly and alignment and operate heavy equipment, including forklifts, lifts, and hoists. Additionally, you will use welding, sheet metal, and power tools for fabrication and repair tasks, perform mechanical systems troubleshooting, and implement joining processes while ensuring safety compliance and following job-specific protocols.

Responsibilities

Install, maintain, and repair industrial equipment such as conveyors, pumps, motors, and gearboxes.

Interpret blueprints and specifications to ensure accurate assembly and alignment.

Operate heavy equipment including forklifts, lifts, and hoists.

Use welding, sheet metal, and power tools for fabrication and repair tasks.

Perform mechanical systems troubleshooting and implement joining processes.

Ensure safety compliance and follow job-specific protocols.

Essential Skills

Experience with industrial equipment repair and maintenance.

Ability to read and interpret blueprints.

Skilled in welding, mechanical systems, and power tools.

Comfortable with climbing and working in industrial environments.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Mid-level experience preferred.

Work Environment

The position operates on a 2nd shift, Monday to Friday from 3 PM to 11:30 PM, within a heavy industrial corn processing environment. The job may involve working with corn slurry and other chemicals in the piping, making it a dirty job at times. Appropriate attire includes steel toes, jeans, and a long sleeve shirt. You will be part of a large on-site crew of 120 people, often working in smaller teams of 5-10.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Cedar Rapids, IA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $40.00/hr.
