Summary The Vero Beach, Florida VA clinic is recruiting a well‑trained, energetic Physician (Urology) to work full time for Surgical Care Services. The Urologist evaluates and treats urological conditions and performs surgical procedures.
Qualifications
United States citizenship (non‑citizens only if no qualified citizens are available).
Doctor of Medicine or equivalent, degree from a VA‑approved school.
Current, full and unrestricted medical license in any U.S. state, territory, or the District of Columbia.
Completed residency in Urology approved by the VA (ACGME, AOA, or other qualifying program).
Board certification or, for PA‑status physicians, faculty status may require board certification.
PRPs (Physician Resident Providers) approved if enrolled in an accredited residency and fully licensed.
Proficiency in spoken and written English.
Physical fitness: pass pre‑employment physical; light to moderate lifting (15‑44 lbs); ability to lift, carry, reach, walk, stand, and kneel as specified.
Visual and hearing requirements as per VA standards.
Emotional, mental, and interpersonal stability.
Duties
Work full time at the Vero Beach VA clinic in Surgical Services.
Perform urological surgical procedures, including admissions, consultations, pre‑operative and post‑operative care.
Provide evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment of urological conditions.
Participate in emergency and on‑call schedules.
Conduct outpatient and inpatient clinics, including managing patients during inpatient stays.
Perform procedures such as cystoscopy, prostate biopsies, and electrocorporeal shock wave lithotripsy.
Adopt and modify management plans; counsel patients and work with allied health professionals.
Serve as a consultant to primary care physicians and provide referrals.
Teach and educate patients, staff, trainees, and seminar participants on gynecologic disorders.
Participate in the Surgical Department Quality Assurance and Peer Review programs.
