Job Title: CNC Machinist

Job Description

We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist experienced with MasterCam software and operating 3 & 4 axis Mills. Our company is thriving with a healthy mix of commercial and defense contracts, achieving 20-40% growth each year. The role primarily involves sheet metal machining in a company that is both cash positive and expanding.

Responsibilities

Operate 3, 4, axis vertical and horizontal CNC Mills.

Read blueprints, engineering drawings, specifications, and interpret GD&T.

Use micrometers, calipers, bore gages, and height gage.

Utilize basic math, geometry, and trigonometry for machining tasks.

Set up machines by installing pallets, vises, tombstones, and fixtures.

Follow verbal machine operation instructions from department lead and assess drawings & manufacturing planning for machining requirements.

Carefully load parts into machines, operate machine’s control panel, unload parts, deburr parts, and arrange parts in boxes or on pallets.

Monitor features & dimensions on each component run, and deburr finished parts.

Support supervisors in the running of production parts, proving programs, operating controls, setting offsets, deburring, and inspection of quality parts for conformance to requirements.

Study and interpret drawings, manuals, specifications, tool setups, or sample parts to determine dimensions and tolerances, sequence of operations, and set up requirements.

Detect equipment malfunctions or out of tolerance machining and adjust machine controls as required.

Keep equipment and work area clean and orderly, perform basic preventative maintenance functions.

Adhere to state and federal law, the Company Quality Program and procedures, Company policies and Safety and Environmental Regulations.

Essential Skills

Experience with CNC machining and MasterCam software.

Proficiency in operating 3 & 4 axis Mills.

Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings.

Familiarity with micrometers, calipers, and other measuring tools.

Strong understanding of geometry and trigonometry.

Experience in setting up machines with various fixtures.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

Experience with Haas and Fanuc programming.

Ability to run two machines simultaneously.

Experience in sheet metal machining is highly preferred.

Work Environment

This position operates in a manufacturing plant and professional office environment. The role involves exposure to fumes, airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, and vibrations. Conditions may include excessive heat, cold, wetness, bright lights, and slippery surfaces. The noise level is high, but ear protection is provided. The job is based on a 4/10 schedule with day and swing shifts available.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Sumner, WA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.00 - $35.00/hr.
