Description
Northwestern Medicine seeks a fellowship‑trained BE/BC general Gastroenterologist to join our teams in Geneva, IL and Winfield, IL, located in the west suburbs of Chicago. Board‑certified physicians evaluate, diagnose, and treat a wide range of digestive disorders using advanced diagnostic and therapeutic techniques.
Responsibilities
Hospital‑based inpatient care and management of acute or critical patients.
Perform endoscopy procedures generated from the emergency department and inpatient consult service.
Competent in basic upper and lower endoscopy, enteral access (PEG placement), and management of GI emergencies such as upper and lower GI bleeding, food impactions, and volvulus.
Collaborate with 1–2 interventional endoscopists and other subspecialists.
Work 26‑week rotations, 7‑day weeks, 12‑hour shifts (1 week on/1 week off).
Supported by an Advanced Practice Provider for inpatient consults and transition of care.
Use the EPIC electronic health record system.
Qualifications
BE/BC in Gastroenterology.
