The Inventory Control Clerk supports the Inventory Control Supervisor in maintaining accurate records of raw materials, work-in-progress (WIP), and finished goods. This role ensures all inventory transactions are processed correctly and efficiently to support production schedules and prevent shortages or overages. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, dependable, and able to work collaboratively in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
Requirements
Key Roles & Responsibilities:
• Perform daily inventory activities, including receiving, storing, issuing, and counting of materials.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date records in the inventory system.
• Assist in conducting regular cycle counts and monthly physical inventories.
• Identify and report discrepancies or damaged materials to the Inventory Control Supervisor.
• Help organize and maintain warehouse areas, labeling, and bin locations for efficient storage.
• Support the movement of materials between departments and facilities as required.
• Collaborate with Purchasing, Production, and Shipping to ensure timely material availability.
• Operate material handling equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks) safely and efficiently.
• Follow all safety procedures and company policies while maintaining a clean and organized work area.
• Participate in continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives.
Experience & Qualifications:
Required:
• 2+ years of experience in inventory control, warehouse, or material handling environment
• Basic understanding of inventory management systems and practices
• Experience with QuickBooks or similar inventory tracking software
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and basic computer skills
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and operate material handling equipment
• Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic
Preferred:
• Experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment
• Forklift certification or OSHA safety training
• Familiarity with lean manufacturing or 5S practices
• Associate's degree or coursework in Supply Chain, Business, or related field
Work Environment:
• Industrial warehouse/manufacturing floor with exposure to machinery, noise, and fluctuating temperatures
• Must wear appropriate PPE and follow all safety protocols
