Legal Administrative Assistant – Business Litigation
Location: Albany, NY (100% in the office)
Job Overview Harris Beach Murtha is seeking a Legal Administrative Assistant to join our Business Litigation practice group in the Albany office. The successful candidate will support a team of attorneys with day‑to‑day administrative tasks, manage workload, and provide high‑quality client service.
Responsibilities
Prepare documents, binders, exhibits, and charts for depositions, hearings, and oral arguments.
Ensure written communications are drafted, reviewed, edited, proofed, finalized, signed, distributed, and filed for effective retrieval.
Handle electronic filings with state and federal courts.
Prepare table of contents and table of authorities; hyperlink pleadings with court filings.
Assist with new client intake, issue engagement letters, and open new matters.
Manage attorney contacts, calendars, scheduling (including travel), and phones.
Process check requests, vendor invoices, and attorney expense reimbursement requests.
Coordinate service of process and track completion.
Follow up with clients and other parties as needed.
Qualifications & Skills
2+ years of legal administrative experience, preferably in litigation.
Strong communication and client‑service skills.
Proficiency in MS Office applications.
Excellent time‑management, multitasking, and organizational abilities.
Exceptional oral and written communication, including excellent spelling, grammar, punctuation, form, and style.
Desired Attributes
Ability to multi‑task effectively, meet deadlines, and solve problems in a fast‑paced office.

Compensation The anticipated weekly schedule is 37.5 hours. Salary information varies based on relevant experience and weekly hours.
