Department The Department of Natural Sciences serves students ranging from science majors to those taking science courses for their core curriculum. We offer the Bachelor of Science in Biology, a broad undergraduate degree preparing students for the modern workplace, graduate school, or pre‑professional schools.
Job Summary Middle Georgia State University seeks an assistant‑professor of biology to begin fall 2026 in the School of Health and Natural Sciences. This tenure‑track position involves teaching, scholarship, and service. Teaching responsibilities may include day and/or evening, lower‑level and/or upper‑level biology courses. Travel from the Macon campus to Warner Robins (and other campuses) will be required.
Responsibilities
Teach undergraduate biology courses, including day, evening, online, and hybrid formats.
Conduct original research and pursue scholarship.
Assist in student recruitment, curriculum development, mentoring, and departmental/university service.
Participate in departmental and university committees and support travel between campuses.
Required Qualifications
PhD in Biology or a related field.
Special expertise in microbiology or organismal biology.
Successful full‑time teaching experience at the university level.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience supervising undergraduate research.
Interest in online and/or hybrid course development.
