Job Summary The Server is expected to exceed customer expectations and provide above and beyond experiences through attentiveness and professionalism. This position serves as one of the key roles to a guest’s customer service encounters. The server must be able to communicate with the guests efficiently and effectively in order to provide a one‑of‑a‑kind experience that will ensure a guest’s return. The Server position is responsible for performing all tasks related to the food and beverage service in a courteous and efficient manner while maintaining a clean work area in accordance with company standards and procedures.

Responsibilities

Welcome and acknowledge all guests according to company standards

Remain attentive to the guest’s needs throughout the entire visit and dining experience by adhering to, or exceeding service standards as established by the restaurant at all times

Provide professional, competent, knowledgeable and prompt service to guests at all times

Anticipate guests needs, respond promptly and acknowledge all guests

Guide guests through menu items and structure selection to assure guests have the best possible experience throughout their visit, using a professional manner and utilizing suggestive selling and upselling techniques

A complete food and beverage menu knowledge at all times and continuously stay on top of menu changes

Describe the selection of food & beverage offered, including continuous knowledge of menus and specials

Communicate vivid descriptions of each item’s origin, taste, dietary restrictions, allergies content and preparation methods

Suggest appropriate dishes ensuring guest satisfaction based on a broad understanding of menu composition

Have extended knowledge of all premium liquor, beers and non‑alcoholic selections and know the correct glassware and garnish of each drink

Ensure uniform and personal appearances are clean and professional at all times (refer to Uniform Policy and SOP for details)

Maintain confidentiality of proprietary information, and protect company assets

Complete all restocking and cleaning duties by performing opening and closing side work as instructed

Check assigned station/tables prior to opening for cleanliness of tables, chairs, and surrounding areas including floor areas

Obtain a proper form of payment from guests and ensure that every check presented to guest is returned back with a signature

Abide by Mr. Hospitality’s standing operation procedures in regards to all cash handling and procedures

Follow company standards when interacting with guests, such as correct handling of service charges and notifying guests about service charge inclusion to final check

Maintain a friendly, cheerful and courteous demeanor at all times

Continuously seek to stay aware of what is happening in Miami and the whole entertainment and dining industry

Pose an “Above and beyond” attitude at all times

Act proactively, but also be able to respond effectively to guest problems, issues and complaints

Understand and support the importance of guest satisfaction and focus on continuous improvement

Display interpersonal and teamwork skills

Strong writing, reading, listening and speaking/communications skills

Maintain a high level of accuracy when taking order

Knowledge of all liquor laws and regulations concerning service of alcoholic beverages

Requirements

General knowledge of food and beverage preparation, service standards, guest relations and etiquette as set by Mr. H. SOPs

Speak and write fluently in English. Spanish language skills are a plus for this position

Understanding and compliance of house standards, etiquette and what is expected of the role

Self‑motivated and resourceful, with the proven ability to multi‑task and operate successfully under pressure

Flexible schedule to include evenings, weekends, and holidays

Have previous serving experience in a high‑volume environment with focus on the luxury segment

Excellent customer service skills

Ability to obtain any required food‑handing or alcohol‑serving certifications required by local or state agencies

Maintain complete knowledge of table, seat, room capacity, hours of operation, proper table set‑up of the restaurant

Able to lift and carry up to 35 pounds

Able to walk or stand the entire shift

Personal Appearance Must abide by the brand standards pertaining to uniform requirements. All employees must maintain good personal hygiene. Fingernails must be cut and clean. Personal appearance must be suitable for work at all times. Must be clean‑shaven at all times. Slip‑resistant black shoes. Maintain personal health and sanitation standards (wash hands when using restroom).

Physical Demands The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear and taste or smell.

Environmental Conditions Use of chemicals and electrical equipment; ability to tolerate varying conditions of noise level, temperature, illumination and air quality.
