Cost Accountant Compensation:

$90,000 – $115,000 per year, commensurate with experience.

About the Opportunity:

A national manufacturing organization in the building products sector is seeking an experienced Cost Accountant to join its Florida plant operations team. This role is a key finance partner to the plant’s General Manager and leadership group, focusing on cost control, inventory accuracy, and COGS precision within a multi‑plant environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Own and manage all aspects of plant‑level cost accounting, including standard cost development, variance analysis, and margin reporting.

Partner closely with operations leadership to analyze and optimize COGS and production expenses.

Perform detailed reviews of inventory transactions, reconciliations, and adjustments to ensure accuracy across multiple facilities.

Develop and refine costing models that reflect true production costs, identifying inefficiencies and savings opportunities.

Prepare and maintain key financial reports supporting manufacturing performance, material usage, and overhead absorption.

Collaborate cross‑functionally with finance, operations, and supply chain teams to improve cost processes and data accuracy.

Support internal controls and participate in month‑end close and reporting cycles.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.

5+ years of cost accounting experience within a manufacturing or plant environment.

Strong understanding of inventory valuation, cost flows, and variance analysis.

Advanced Excel and ERP system experience (SAP, Oracle, or similar).

Proven ability to communicate effectively with both accounting and operations stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:

CPA or CMA designation.

Experience in multi‑plant or multi‑entity manufacturing environments.

Exposure to process improvement or lean manufacturing initiatives.
