Summary:

The Swim Assistant Coach and Pool Manager assists in the coaching duties of the NCAA D-III Swimming and Diving program in accordance with NCAA, NCAC and The College of Wooster policies. The role includes coaching, recruitment,, retention, administration, and facility management.

Responsibilities

Design and implement training and conditioning programs to enhance athlete performance.

Supervise facility operations, including pool scheduling, lifeguard management, and maintenance oversight.

Support strength and conditioning sessions and contribute to overall workouts.

Assist with recruiting efforts, outreach, evaluations, and communication with prospective student‑athletes.

Collaborate with Admissions to attract academically and athletically qualified applicants.

Coordinate student support and retention efforts with Student Affairs and academic resources.

Manage budgeting, travel, meals, and equipment procurement.

Engage alumni and parents through fundraising, communications, and social media outreach.

Participate in departmental leadership, committee work, and campus‑wide initiatives promoting inclusion and student engagement.

Perform additional duties as assigned, including facility/game management and potential teaching responsibilities.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree from a four‑year college or university.

One to two years of related experience or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Knowledge of NCAA regulations governing recruitment and retention of student‑athletes.

Desire to obtain college driver certification.

CPR, First Aid, and AED certification (required).

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.

Ability to interpret safety rules, operating instructions, and procedural manuals.

Proficiency in writing reports and correspondence.

Administrative decision‑making and problem‑solving skills.

Basic proficiency in Word, Excel, and recruiting software.
