Senior Laboratory Diagnostics Test Design Professional - Newark, DE Siemens Healthineers

is seeking an on‑site Senior Laboratory Diagnostics Test Design Professional in Newark, DE, to join our Customer Workflow Testing team within Systems Engineering.

This role is 100% onsite, requiring a physical presence in the laboratory to perform essential job duties.

Responsibilities

Embed the customer perspective early in the design cycle by translating real laboratory workflows and personas into actionable insights for R&D teams.

Lead persona-driven workflow evaluations across various lab environments to expose usability gaps and hidden risks before market release.

Drive smarter testing practices—including AI‑assisted workflow discovery, targeted test automation, and advanced exploratory testing—to accelerate learning and increase product robustness.

Partner cross‑functionally with systems engineering, assay development, software, and service teams to co‑create next‑generation diagnostic solutions.

Champion continuous improvement by piloting new technologies and techniques that raise the bar for efficiency, quality, and customer satisfaction.

Support design validation activities as needed to ensure regulatory and quality requirements are met.

Required Knowledge, Skills & Experience

Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Biomedical Engineering, or a related field.

Hands‑on understanding of clinical laboratory operations and diagnostic workflows.

5+ years of experience in design validation, systems testing, or equivalent lab diagnostic work in a regulated environment (FDA/ISO 13485/CLIA).

Curiosity and aptitude for emerging technologies such as AI/ML, advanced analytics, or test automation frameworks.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to translate complex laboratory realities into clear engineering insights.

Ability to work onsite in a laboratory environment and adapt quickly to changing priorities.

Desired Skills & Experience

Familiarity with Siemens Atellica Solution instrumentation and Siemens Automation/IT products.

Experience applying Agile or iterative development practices.

Background in exploratory testing or implementing automation in complex, software‑enabled instruments.

Exposure to AI‑driven data analysis or workflow modeling is a plus.

Experience collaborating across multi‑disciplinary teams (assay, software, hardware, service).

Base Pay Range Min $89,220 – Max $133,820
