ADAS Engineer – Autonomous Vehicle Systems Location: Farmington Hills, MI (remote possibility). Base pay range: $65,000–$67,000 per year. This role focuses on designing, integrating, validating, and continuously improving Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) and autonomous driving features for next‑generation mobility platforms.

Key Responsibilities:

Develop and validate ADAS and autonomous driving features such as Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Centering, Traffic Jam Assist, and Automated Parking.

Work closely with system architects to define system requirements, functional safety goals, and performance targets.

Support sensor integration (camera, radar, LiDAR, ultrasonic, and driver monitoring systems) at component and vehicle levels.

Conduct vehicle testing, calibration, and validation of ADAS and self‑driving features in various road and weather conditions.

Perform driving evaluations to assess system performance, tuning, and driver interaction.

Analyze data logs and simulation results to identify system behavior, edge cases, and opportunities for improvement.

Perform root cause analysis and issue triage for field and development issues.

Collaborate with software, controls, and validation teams to ensure feature maturity through model‑in‑the‑loop, hardware‑in‑the‑loop, and vehicle‑in‑loop testing.

Participate in autonomous driving prototype and validation vehicle builds, ensuring hardware and software readiness.

Contribute to DFMEA, system design reviews, and functional safety documentation per ISO 26262 and SOTIF (ISO 21448) standards.

Coordinate with global teams for benchmarking, best practice sharing, and technology updates in ADAS and self‑driving domains.

Qualifications & Skills:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, Automotive, or Computer Engineering.

2–4 years of experience in ADAS or autonomous driving system development.

Hands‑on experience with sensor fusion, perception algorithms, or vehicle control systems.

Valid driver’s license and proven driving experience for on‑road vehicle testing and validation.

Knowledge of CAN, LIN, Ethernet, UDS, and diagnostic communication protocols.

Familiarity with MATLAB/Simulink, Vector CAN tools (CANape/CANalyzer), Python, or C/C++.

Experience using simulation tools like CARLA, PreScan, IPG Carmaker, or similar.

Understanding of functional safety (ISO 26262) and system validation methodologies.

Strong problem‑solving, data analysis, and cross‑functional communication skills.

Preferred Attributes:

Experience with Level 2+/3 self‑driving feature development or prototype vehicle integration.

Exposure to machine learning or AI‑based perception systems.

Knowledge of sensor calibration and alignment techniques.

Understanding of regulatory compliance and validation for global markets.

Passion for emerging mobility technologies and autonomous vehicle innovation.
