Benefits Billing Analyst
Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and analytical
Benefits Billing Analyst
to support the management and billing of employee benefit plans. This role is ideal for an accounting professional with at least two years of experience who thrives on accuracy, compliance, and process improvement within benefits administration.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and reconcile all benefit plan billings, ensuring accurate and timely payment processing.
Audit monthly benefit invoices for accuracy and identify discrepancies or billing errors.
Maintain and update employee benefit records in HR and payroll systems.
Partner with HR and Finance to ensure accurate benefit deductions and cost allocations.
Prepare and analyze benefit cost reports, tracking trends and variances.
Assist with annual open enrollment and benefit plan renewals, including rate setup and testing.
Serve as a liaison with vendors and brokers to resolve billing or coverage issues.
Support compliance with benefit‑related regulations, including COBRA, HIPAA, and ACA.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
Minimum of
2 years of accounting or benefits administration experience , with direct responsibility for billing benefit plans.
Strong Excel and data analysis skills.
Experience with HRIS or payroll systems (ADP, Workday, Paylocity, or similar) preferred.
Excellent attention to detail, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
Preferred Skills
Knowledge of benefits accounting principles and reconciliation processes.
Familiarity with employee benefits such as health, dental, vision, life, and disability insurance.
Experience working in a mid‑size or multi‑state organization a plus.
