We are hiring a
Junior Controller
to partner closely with our CFO and lead financial operations that support a company scaling across Michigan. This position focuses on accuracy, process improvement, and strategic insight to help BathWorks grow sustainably.
As the Junior Controller, you will oversee general ledger activity, payroll, banking, and reporting while mentoring an Accounting Specialist and streamlining accounting processes. You will play a critical role in financial planning, budgeting, and decision support for leadership.
This position offers a clear path to Controller within 2 to 3 years.
Key Responsibilities
Lead accounting operations including A/R, A/P, payroll, banking, and reporting
Manage monthly closing process and produce accurate financial statements
Support budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning with the CFO
Monitor job costing and inventory valuation for accuracy
Implement process automation and stronger financial controls
Prepare and review reconciliations, journal entries, and audit documentation
Partner with Operations, HR, and Sales to align financial data with performance goals
Provide insights and analysis to improve profitability and scalability
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
5+ years of progressive accounting experience with leadership exposure
In-depth understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and payroll systems
Advanced Excel and QuickBooks skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUPs, modeling)
Detail-oriented with a strong sense of ownership and problem-solving ability
Preferred:
Experience in construction, remodeling, or project-based industries
Background in ERP or system implementation
CPA or CPA-track preferred but not required
