Information Developer II – Technical Writer Reporting to the Manager, Technical Publications, the Information Developer II – Technical Writer is responsible for designing, developing, formatting, implementing and managing technical writing and content creation to support labeling documents, manuals, testing procedures and operational specifications for hardware and software user’s guides, service and programming manuals, and electronic media including online help.

Location: USA – Loveland, on-site. Seniority: Mid‑Senior. Employment type: Full‑time.

Responsibilities

Creates structured content for end‑user installation, operation and maintenance manuals, user instructions, quick start/quick reference guides, analytical procedures, and online help.

Develops content for global delivery in 32+ languages, applying Simplified Technical English, Global Visual Design Standards and Localization Best Practices.

Manages the complete translation process with external vendors from scoping to delivery.

Obtains, defines, and interprets information through collaboration with cross‑functional, global product development teams and customer feedback.

Improves documentation quality based on customer feedback, testing for usability, accuracy and validity.

Updates unstructured FrameMaker legacy documentation and converts books to structured topics and maps.

Manages daily work, project assignments and on‑time delivery of output deliverables.

Prepares documentation for final production (print, online, translation) and proofing final delivery PDF files.

Qualifications

BA/BS in Technical Communication, science, technology or related field with 3 years of experience, or 10 years in Technical Publication/Communication.

Knowledge of desktop publishing to create and manipulate documentation.

Skilled in DITA – XML and content management systems.

Skilled in translation management systems.

Experience with XSL‑FO files is a plus.

Ability to illustrate complex technical concepts in user‑friendly illustrations is a plus.

Experience with SolidWorks, Corel Designer, Adobe Illustrator is a plus.

Ability to disassemble and reassemble instruments to create installation and maintenance information.

Compensation & Benefits The compensation range for this role is $75,000 – $85,000 USD per year, with eligibility for bonus pay.
