Epic Unit Notes: CHOMP is a smoke-free facility.
All drug screenings must include
negative nicotine/cotinine
results. If results are positive, the report will be reviewed
only if
the traveler has a
prescription for nicotine replacement therapy
(e.g., nicotine patch). Unjustified positive nicotine/cotinine results
will result in
contract cancellation. General Job Duties and Position Summary
The
Interventional Radiologic (IR) Technologist
is a
state and nationally board-certified
professional who collaborates closely with
Interventional Radiologists
and
Radiology Nursing staff
to assist in diagnostic and therapeutic procedures. The IR Technologist must: Perform effectively under
stressful and emergency conditions . Provide care for
emergency, inpatient, and outpatient
populations. Maintain
competency in all interventional radiology procedures . Participate in on-call rotation
for after-hours IR procedures. Under the supervision of the
Department Director and Manager , the IR Technologist: Delivers
high-quality, safe, and efficient patient care . Interacts professionally with patients, physicians, and colleagues. Performs and documents all radiographic procedures accurately (IR/X-ray). Ensures compliance with
radiation safety
and
diagnostic imaging standards . Maximizes
equipment utilization
and
departmental efficiency . Experience and Skills
Preferred:
At least
3 years of acute care hospital radiologic technologist experience
within the past 3 years. Education
As required for state and national
licensure/certification . Licensure & Certifications
Required:
ARRT (R) California Radiologic Technologist License Fluoroscopy Permit BLS (CPR)
Strongly Preferred:
ARRT (VI)
– Vascular Interventional certification
Schedule & On-Call
8-hour AM shifts (varied) On-call required:
Every
4th weekend
“Buddy call” provided during initial training period.
