Description

The Manager, Materials Layout Planning & Design for FIFA World Cup 2026 will be responsible for creating detailed CAD layouts of FF&E (Furniture, Fixtures, and Equipment) for all tournament venues. This role will work closely with the Manager, Material Planning, and internal FIFA departments (FIFA Functional Areas) to consolidate FF&E requirements from stakeholders and translate them into accurate and functional venue layouts.

The Manager, Materials Layout Planning & Design will be required to extract FF&E data from Excel tables, including quantities, types, and configurations, and transform this data into precise CAD drawings. These layouts will guide the procurement, delivery, and setup of FF&E, ensuring that all items are positioned according to operational requirements, venue specifications, and FIFA’s design standards.

THE POSITION

This position will play a key role in ensuring that FF&E configurations are operationally effective, visually consistent, and adaptable to evolving requirements. The role requires strong technical expertise in CAD design and space planning, combined with the ability to work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders to align layouts with overall tournament needs.

FF&E Planning and Space Layout Management • Create detailed CAD layouts of FF&E for all tournament venues based on data extracted from Excel tables (e.g., quantities, types, and configurations). • Develop and manage detailed FF&E space plans, ensuring alignment with operational and stakeholder requirements. • Work closely with the Manager, Material Planning to confirm FF&E requirements and ensure accuracy and completeness in the planning phase. • Populate the Bill of Quantities (BOQ) based on the created layouts to ensure all FF&E needs are accurately captured and aligned with venue requirements. • Ensure that all FF&E layouts comply with FIFA design guidelines, venue infrastructure, and local regulations. • Integrate FF&E layouts with overall venue overlay plans to ensure seamless operational flow and efficient space utilization. • Contribute to the development of the Material Planning Guide by creating and maintaining a catalog of FIFA’s typical spaces and layouts, ensuring consistent standards across all venues. • Support the creation of FF&E design templates for repeatable spaces (e.g., media centers, hospitality suites, ticketing areas).

Stakeholder Engagement and Coordination • Collaborate with internal FIFA departments (FIFA Functional Areas) to align layouts with operational needs. • Together with the Manager, Material Planning, validate Functional Area (FA) requirements against available venue spaces to identify gaps and ensure realistic planning. • Serve as the main point of contact for FF&E layout-related matters with venue teams and functional area leads. • Conduct regular meetings with stakeholders to validate FF&E layouts. • Work with the Manager, Logistics Procurement & Dissolution to ensure that FF&E items align with the finalized procurement specifications. • Support functional areas with layout adjustments and troubleshooting during venue setup and operations.

Design and Configuration Management • Develop and maintain detailed FF&E configuration plans, including the placement of furniture, equipment, and other assets. • Ensure all layouts are updated and accurately reflected in the centralized planning system. • Work with the Venue Design team to ensure FF&E layouts align with overall venue overlay designs and infrastructure requirements. • Establish and manage a structured process for handling layout changes, ensuring all adjustments are documented and communicated effectively. • Ensure consistency in FF&E configurations across different venues and spaces. Operational and Logistics Support

• Support the logistics team with layout plans and installation guidelines to ensure smooth delivery and setup of FF&E. • Provide detailed placement instructions for the logistics team and venue teams to guide the setup and dismantling of FF&E. • Monitor the implementation of FF&E layouts during tournament time, ensuring alignment with the approved designs. • Troubleshoot and resolve any issues related to FF&E placement during the setup and operational phases.

Change Control and Continuous Improvement • Manage the change control process for FF&E layouts, ensuring that all updates are communicated and integrated without disrupting operations. • Identify and implement improvements in FF&E layout processes to increase efficiency, reduce costs, and minimize waste. • Monitor the performance of FF&E layouts and recommend optimizations for future events. • Ensure that all changes and updates are reflected accurately in the master planning system.

Reporting and Performance Tracking • Develop and maintain interactive dashboards to give stakeholders real-time visibility into FF&E layouts, planning status, and delivery progress. • Track and report on FF&E delivery performance, identifying risks and opportunities for improvement. • Provide regular reports and updates to the Manager, Material Planning and other key stakeholders. • Support post-event reporting by documenting FF&E usage and recommending adjustments for future events.
