Janel Group is seeking an HR Generalist to lead day‑to‑day HR activities with a focus on full‑cycle recruiting, delivering a seamless onboarding experience, and coordinating training initiatives. The position has flexibility to be based out of either Garden City, NY or Houston, TX.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead full‑cycle recruitment, including intake, sourcing, screening, interview coordination, and offers.
- Build diverse pipelines through direct sourcing, referrals, and university/association partnerships.
- Calibrate job requirements and interview plans with hiring managers; coach interview teams on structured, fair assessments.
- Manage requisitions and candidate workflow in the ATS; maintain accurate data and deliver a high‑touch candidate experience.
- Draft and refresh job descriptions and postings.
- Coordinate pre‑boarding and onboarding from offer accept through 90 days.
- Facilitate orientation sessions; ensure completion of required training and smooth handoff to managers.
- Plan and coordinate training programs (compliance, role‑based, and foundational skills); support logistics, communications, rosters, and follow‑ups.
- Administer LMS activities (enrollments, reminders, completions, and reporting) and curate learning content with subject‑matter experts.
- Provide first‑line HR support to employees and managers on policies, HR processes, leaves, and benefits; elevate issues as appropriate.
- Support performance/talent processes (performance management, check‑ins, reviews) and coach managers on feedback and documentation basics.
- Maintain HRIS and employee files with high data integrity and confidentiality; process hires, changes, and separations accurately and on time.
- Track and report HR and recruiting metrics.
- Ensure compliance with applicable laws and company policies (EEO, FLSA, ADA, FMLA, pay transparency, and privacy requirements).
- Contribute to engagement and recognition initiatives that strengthen culture and employee experience.
- Lead or assist with special HR projects and programs as assigned, ensuring successful execution and alignment with company objectives.
Occasional travel (<10%) to offices/careers fairs to support recruitment and training.
Qualifications
- 3+ years of relevant experience in an HR Generalist and/or Recruiter role, required.
- Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or related field, required.
- Demonstrated success managing full‑cycle recruiting and onboarding, highly preferred.
- Hands‑on experience with ATS, HRIS, and LMS platforms; strong spreadsheet and reporting skills.
- Excellent organization, communication (written, verbal, facilitation), required.
- Sound judgment, discretion, and problem‑solving.
- Willingness to travel occasionally (<10%) to offices/career fairs, required.
