Lighthouse Lab Services is representing an independent, full-service clinical laboratory located near New Orleans seeking an experienced
NGS Molecular Technologist
to join their growing team. This is an excellent opportunity to work with cutting-edge molecular testing and next-generation sequencing (NGS) in a forward-thinking laboratory committed to quality, innovation, and patient-centered diagnostics.
Key Responsibilities
Perform moderate and high-complexity molecular testing, including Next Generation Sequencing and Real-Time PCR.
Prepare and process clinical specimens for sequencing and molecular assays in accordance with CLIA and LSBME regulations.
Operate, maintain, and troubleshoot a variety of molecular and sequencing instrumentation.
Document all quality control, proficiency testing, and maintenance activities accurately and thoroughly.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure high-quality results and efficient turnaround times.
Support assay development, validation, and implementation of new molecular and sequencing methodologies.
Qualifications
Louisiana CLS Generalist License
(required) – must qualify through ASCP or AAB certification recognized by the Louisiana State Board of Medical Examiners (LSBME).
Bachelor’s degree
in Medical Laboratory Science, Biology, Molecular Biology, or a related field.
Prior
clinical laboratory experience
in molecular diagnostics or NGS required.
Strong understanding of molecular techniques, sequencing workflows, and data integrity.
Excellent attention to detail, analytical skills, and ability to work independently in a regulated laboratory environment.
Experience with laboratory information systems (LIS) or bioinformatics tools preferred.
