Summary

Provides direct patient care in a specialty unit in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice, and with the policies, values, and mission of the organization. Responsibilities

Effectively delegate patient care to ancillary personnel and may precept student nurses and new hires. Evaluate learning needs of the patient and/or family and provide appropriate education based on age, culture, condition, and circumstances. Collaborate across disciplines to coordinate patient care, including disposition, referral, and spiritual or psychosocial support. Plan, implement, and evaluate patient care based on assessment to optimize outcomes and maximize resources. Monitor, document, and communicate patient condition as appropriate. Competencies

Accountability Customer Service Development and Implementation of Plan of Care Knowledge of Disease Process Organization Skills Patient and Family Centered Care Patient Safety – Nursing Problem Solving – Patient Care Responding to Change Standards of Behavior Education and Certification Requirements

Accredited Program: Nursing (Required). Additional certifications include ACLS, BLS, RN Compact License, RN License (State of Florida), ONCC Chemotherapy Provider Certificate, APHON Chemotherapy Provider Card, PALS, NRP, and certifications in Fetal Monitoring through the National Credential Center or AWOHNN (Intermediate or Advanced) for L&D RNs. Newly licensed RNs have six months to obtain ACLS and/or PALS. Refer to the Mandatory Education Requirements Grid for details. Additional Job Information
