The Tulane National Biomedical Research Center (TNBRC) is seeking a veterinarian within the Division of Veterinary Medicine to help meet the needs of its expanding program.

The TNBRC is one of seven National Primate Research Centers in the U.S. The TNPRC is an AAALAC International accredited facility housing approximately 5,000 nonhuman primates (NHP) of six different species. TNPRC’s research program is focused on infectious disease with a concentration on the study of AIDS. Other areas of research involve emerging infectious diseases, gene therapy, biodefense, enteric disease, NHP behavior, and NHP medicine and surgery.

Responsibilities

General medical and surgical care of breeding colony and research animals.

Provision of research support.

Training of investigators, laboratory animal medicine residents, veterinary students, and technicians.

Participation in independent or collaborative research.
