Tooling Mechanical Design Engineer, Project Kuiper Amazon’s Project Kuiper is a low‑Earth‑orbit satellite broadband network designed to deliver fast, reliable internet to customers and communities worldwide, including remote and underserved areas.

Overview The Tooling Engineer will support the program from research and development through design validation into production. You will develop, design, analyze, and implement custom tooling and equipment required for assembling and testing satellites. You will convert team requests into user‑friendly, cost‑effective, and accurate systems, and manage project timelines, costs, fabrication, testing, and commissioning of tooling into manufacturing.

About The Team Project Kuiper is an initiative to launch a constellation of low‑earth‑orbit satellites that provide low‑latency, high‑speed broadband connectivity to underserved communities around the world.

Basic Qualifications

At least 2 years of hardware design and validation experience with components, subsystems, and systems.

Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, material science, physics, or an equivalent field.

Preferred Qualifications

Knowledge of SolidWorks or similar CAD software and an understanding of best practices for part design and advanced assemblies.

Compensation Base pay ranges from $86,900 per year in the lowest geographic market to $185,000 per year in the highest. Compensation may include equity, sign‑on payments, and a full range of medical, financial, and other benefits. For more information, visit
