DevOps Engineer – Quantico, VA
ECS is seeking a
DevOps Engineer
to work in
Quantico, VA . The role supports cutting‑edge technology for law enforcement and scientific organizations. Responsibilities include design, deployment, testing, certification, operations, patching, and addressing interoperability issues for DevSecOps infrastructure tools, encompassing all operating systems, support libraries, components, and application dependencies.
Responsibilities
Work closely with engineers, analysts, architects, product owners, and managers to configure, test, document, implement, maintain, continually improve, and automate operating systems, application software, system‑management tools, data, and processes.
Support, monitor, and manage day‑to‑day operations of systems, applications, and infrastructure that depend on data, ensuring availability, secure transfer, and timely processing, while maintaining upgrades, patches, and configuration changes.
Proactively seek opportunities to improve applications and secure continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) processes, automation, tools, integrations, and related programming languages.
Help cultivate a cost‑effective, secure, quality‑oriented engineering environment that promotes customer service excellence, innovation, collaboration, and teamwork.
Required Skills
Active Top‑Secret clearance.
5+ years experience in CI/CD or DevOps, developing, implementing, and maintaining well‑understood CI/CD pipelines using cloud‑aware frameworks, AWS native services, automation, infrastructure‑as‑code, containerization, APIs, security tools, and ALM suites.
5+ years experience with Linux OS, comfortable navigating and understanding Linux system architecture.
5+ years system‑engineering experience, including installation, management, and maintenance of large, complex systems and data sets; scripting (shell, bash), data manipulation (Python, SQL), ETL processes, and testing tools.
Experience working within an AWS cloud environment.
Desired Skills
BS degree in Systems Engineering, Computer Science, or related IT field.
Experience delivering excellence in Federal Government cyber security, especially within DOJ/FBI practices, standards, and policies.
Ability to communicate technical terms to non‑technical audiences with high attention to detail.
Proactive analytical troubleshooting and innovative problem‑solving skills.
Experience architecting, developing, and managing mature pipelines, cost calculations, performance tuning, and infrastructure management.
Customer‑focused solution delivery.
Contributor to open‑source projects.
Relevant cloud, DevOps, or Elastic certifications.
Experience with SDLC across multiple environments and Agile DevSecOps principles.
AWS Cloud certifications.
