Senior Cloud Engineer – BAM This hands‑on role within our Infrastructure & Platform Services team will give you the chance to make a lasting impact on BAM’s cloud implementation, strategy, and architecture design.

Responsibilities

Serve as a mentor and guide to cloud engineering team members.

Architect and manage BAM’s public cloud environment.

Partner with developers and stakeholders to understand requirements and recommend cloud solutions.

Work with infrastructure and platform teams to provide a consistent end‑user experience across on‑premise and cloud environments.

Write code (Python, Terraform, Puppet, etc.) to automate and optimize deployment of infrastructure and applications.

Develop self‑service capabilities that allow stakeholders to access cloud services quickly and efficiently.

Implement and support applications and systems running on BAM’s cloud environment.

Stay up to date with the latest cloud trends and champion adoption across the organization.

Provide the cloud platform as a product to others within the organization.

Participate in out‑of‑hours on‑call rotation and maintenance.

Technical Fit

7+ years of hands‑on experience architecting and implementing large‑scale, highly available services on public cloud (AWS preferred).

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, information systems, or related field.

Expert knowledge of immutable infrastructure, automation and provisioning tools (AWS CloudFormation or Terraform).

Expert understanding of AWS products (EC2, S3, ALB/NLB, VPC, Lambda, RDS, ElastiCache, DynamoDB, Batch, IAM, SQS, SNS).

Strong to expert understanding of Kubernetes as a platform (cluster creation, management, security, deployment, Helm; experience with EKS, AKS, GKE).

Experience with cloud‑native security practices and tools.

Understanding of FinOps principles and cloud cost optimization.

Strong knowledge of automation scripting (Python, Bash).

Strong knowledge of Linux administration (RHEL).

Operational understanding of networking concepts, architecture, and best practices.

Hands‑on experience with container technologies (Docker, Podman).

Experience with disaster recovery and business continuity planning.

Familiarity with source control (Git) and CI/CD tools (Jenkins, TeamCity, BitBucket, Azure Pipelines).

Analytical skills – troubleshoot and assess problems logically.

Detailed documentation skills – represent ideas, requirements, reference architecture in clear, concise, business‑friendly documents.

Public cloud architecture and strategy planning experience.

Bonus Points

AWS Certified Solutions Architect (Associate or Professional).

AWS Certified SysOps Administrator Associate.

Additional AWS, Azure, or GCP resource specialization.

Kubernetes certifications (CKA, CKAD, CKS).

Experience with configuration management tools (Ansible).

Knowledge of AI/ML infrastructure management.

Experience with platform engineering practices.
