Responsibilities
Design, develop and implement software solutions.
Solve business problems through innovation and engineering practices.
Perform all aspects of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) including analyzing requirements, incorporating architectural standards into application design specifications, documenting application specifications, translating technical requirements into programmed application modules, and developing or enhancing software application modules.
Identify or troubleshoot application code-related issues.
Take active role in code reviews to ensure solutions are aligned to pre-defined architectural specifications.
Assist with design reviews by recommending ways to incorporate requirements into designs and information or data flows.
Participate in project planning sessions with project managers, business analysts, and team members to analyze business requirements and outline proposed solutions.
Qualifications
Minimum education and experience required: Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Computer Information Systems, or related field plus one (1) year of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, Software Developer, Application Developer or related occupation. Alternatively, Bachelor’s degree in CS/CE/CIIS plus three (3) years of experience in the job offered or as Software Engineer, Software Developer, Application Developer or related occupation.
One (1) year of experience developing applications using J2EE, Spring, and Spring Boot framework; developing frontend UI components with HTML, CSS, and Javascript.
Experience with microservice architecture patterns that deploy as REST APIs; using Maven to resolve application dependencies; CI/CD tools including Jenkins and Sonar; automation scripts using Selenium; regression, performance, and load testing; production support activities; working with JSON- and XML-formatted data files and service payloads; data manipulation, structuring and query optimization using SQL; executing projects through the full SDLC using Agile methodologies; Agile ceremonies; working with applications that have Apache Kafka integrations; Hibernate for database connections with SQL and Oracle databases; log analysis tools including Splunk; using Git for code base management.
Graduate-level internships may provide experience.
Location and Compensation Job Location: 10 S. Dearborn St, Chicago, IL 60603. Full‑time. Salary: $128,600 – $155,000 per year.
