Walmart’s Corporate Sustainability team is seeking a Director of Strategic Initiatives – Sustainability to embed sustainability into the Fashion supply chain. This role will develop and execute a comprehensive strategy to leverage the largest supply chains in the Fashion business to create impact in the world. The incumbent will lead EPR oversight, standardize tools and processes across all non‑food Business Units, and drive Walmart’s sustainability goals.

Responsibilities
Lead the strategic development, planning and execution of Fashion product value chain sustainability initiatives with clear action plans to support Walmart’s overarching sustainability goals. Monitor external trends to guide decision‑making.
Work closely with internal stakeholders, external partners, and industry leaders to advance Walmart’s Fashion sustainability objectives for Private Brand and National Brand suppliers. Represent Walmart on key committees and with NGOs.
Identify promising innovations for material, manufacturing and circularity to create tangible impact and systemic change.
Automate and manage comprehensive tracking tools to report progress and translate data into actionable insights. Lead external reporting requirements for Fashion product value chain.
Collaborate with cross‑functional teams and influence senior leadership to enhance sustainability integration into business operations and decision‑making processes.
Support primary categories: Fashion (Men’s, Women’s, Kids, Shoes, Accessories) and broadly support GM, Consumables and other businesses.
Commodity leadership: Cotton, other fibers under waste (Polyester, MMCF) and focus on textiles EPR.
Lead People strategy development beyond 2025.
Qualifications
Experience developing and implementing sustainability strategies within a large organization.
Strong collaboration skills; effective cross‑functional and external partner engagement.
Proven ability to identify sustainability risks and opportunities and develop effective strategies to address them.
Excellent communication skills; articulate sustainability initiatives and results to stakeholders.
Up‑to‑date knowledge of industry trends, emerging technologies and regulatory changes related to sustainability and fashion.
Strong project management skills are required.
