About The Company:

Gurans Hydro Limited (GHL) is a public limited company established to develop and operate hydropower projects in Nepal. The company is developing the 41.06 MW Sankhuwa Khola Hydropower Project (SKHP) located in Sankhuwasabha and Bhojpur districts. GHL is backed by reputable institutional investors including Barun Investment Limited, Neco Insurance Limited, and SG Group.

Position Overview:

The GR & PR Manager will play a key strategic role in managing government relations, public communications, stakeholder engagement, and corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives. The position requires a proactive professional with excellent communication, coordination, and negotiation skills to ensure compliance, strengthen institutional reputation, and build positive relations with local and national stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities Government & Regulatory Affairs:

Liaise effectively with federal, provincial, and local government authorities, ensuring smooth coordination for permits, licenses, and compliance matters.

Maintain regular communication with DoED, NEA, Ministry of Energy, and other regulatory bodies.

Monitor policy developments and update management on regulatory requirements affecting hydropower operations.

Public Relations & Communications:

Develop and implement corporate communication and PR strategies aligned with GHL’s objectives.

Prepare press releases, company updates, and stakeholder communication materials.

Handle media relations and represent the company in public forums and industry events.

Community & Stakeholder Engagement:

Manage community relations programs and local stakeholder coordination in the project area.

Facilitate CSR initiatives, grievance handling, and local employment engagement.

Build constructive relationships with local government, community leaders, and affected groups.

Reporting & Documentation:

Maintain accurate records of correspondence, approvals, and meetings with external agencies.

Prepare periodic reports for management summarizing GR/PR activities and outcomes.

Qualifications And Experience

Master’s/Bachelor’s degree in Management, Public Administration, Development Studies, or related field.

Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in government liaison, stakeholder management, or communications — preferably in hydropower, infrastructure, or large‑scale industrial projects.

Strong understanding of Nepali regulatory frameworks and government functioning.

Excellent verbal and written communication skills in both Nepali and English.

Ability to travel to project sites and coordinate with multiple stakeholders under tight timelines.

Preferred Competencies

Proven experience in government relations and community interface roles.

Strategic communication, negotiation, and networking abilities.

Sound understanding of hydropower sector policies and compliance processes.

High ethical standards, integrity, and professional accountability.
