41.06 MW Shankhuwa Khola Hydropower Project , located in the Sankhuwasabha and Bhojpur districts of Nepal. The project is promoted by reputed institutional investors including Barun Investment Ltd., Neco Insurance Ltd., and SG Group. The company is committed to high-quality engineering standards, safety compliance, community engagement, and timely project delivery through effective project and human capital management.
Position Overview The
Project Manager (Contractor Side)
will lead the overall planning, execution, monitoring, and control of the Shankhuwa Khola Hydropower Project. The role demands a seasoned professional with proven technical, managerial, and leadership capabilities in EPC/hydropower construction environments, responsible for ensuring project delivery within defined timelines, budgets, and quality parameters while adhering to contractual and statutory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Project Leadership & Management: Oversee the full project life cycle— from mobilization, engineering, procurement, and construction to commissioning.
Lead and supervise multidisciplinary project teams, including civil, mechanical, electrical, and administrative departments.
Ensure strict adherence to project schedules, cost control plans, and contract specifications.
Liaise with the Employer, Consultant, and local authorities for smooth coordination and project execution.
Planning, Monitoring & Reporting: Develop and monitor project implementation plans, Gantt charts, and resource allocation schedules.
Review and evaluate contractor and subcontractor performance, identifying risks and developing mitigation plans.
Prepare periodic progress reports and presentations for management and client review.
Ensure accurate documentation, site reports, and correspondence related to project performance.
Technical & Contractual Management: Interpret technical drawings, BOQs, and contract conditions under FIDIC or equivalent standards.
Evaluate and approve change orders, variation claims, and extension of time (EOT) requests.
Coordinate with engineering design teams for technical clarifications and design modifications.
Maintain strict compliance with quality control, health, safety, and environmental standards.
Financial Oversight: Support the Finance and Procurement teams in cost estimation, budgeting, and cash flow forecasting.
Monitor project expenses against approved budgets and control cost overruns.
Ensure timely certification of works, invoices, and payment approvals in coordination with relevant stakeholders.
Stakeholder & Compliance Management: Liaise with local government, regulatory bodies (DoED, NEA), and project consultants.
Maintain effective communication with local communities, government agencies, and project partners.
Ensure compliance with Nepalese labour laws, environmental regulations, and company policies.
Represent the company in meetings, audits, and official inspections.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering; Master’s in Engineering or Project Management preferred.
Minimum 10–15 years of progressive experience in hydropower or large-scale infrastructure projects, including at least 5 years in a Project Manager or equivalent leadership position on the contractor side.
Strong technical understanding of hydropower project components (dam, intake, tunnel, penstock, powerhouse, E&M works).
Proven track record of managing multidisciplinary teams and delivering projects within schedule and budget.
Sound knowledge of FIDIC contracts, project scheduling (Primavera/MS Project), and risk management principles.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills in English and Nepali; proficiency in Chinese language will be an added advantage.
Willingness to work and reside in a remote project environment.
