Technical Product Owner
Job Location: Berkeley Heights, NJ
Job Type: Contract
Pay Range: $65/hr - $70/hr
Job Description The Technical Product Owner will be responsible for managing project management tools, overseeing JIRA and C360 landscapes, writing user stories, triaging defects, and coordinating with clients. This role involves close collaboration with Product Management, Technical Account Managers (TAMs), and software developers to ensure successful delivery of features, enhancements, and defect fixes in alignment with SLAs. The ideal candidate should possess strong technical and business acumen in the payments and treasury domains and be adept at balancing multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
Responsibilities
Manage and oversee project management tools such as JIRA and C360.
Write detailed user stories, feature specifications, and data mapping or API specifications as needed.
Triage and analyze defects, providing developers and QA teams with complete and clear information.
Facilitate meetings and Scrum ceremonies to track the progress of features and defect resolutions.
Collaborate with Product Management, Technical Account Managers, and development teams to prioritize and implement product deliverables.
Ensure product deliverables meet quality standards and adhere to SLAs committed to clients.
Develop and maintain effective communication plans across teams and clients.
Coordinate the creation of user manuals, training materials, and other documentation to support implementation.
Conduct post‑project evaluations to identify successful and improvement areas.
Prepare reporting dashboards for tracking risks, client feedback, and release performance.
Perform certain Scrum Master duties to ensure project timelines and commitments are met.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field.
10+ years of software development experience.
Strong experience in Payments, Banking, and Treasury applications.
Minimum 5 years of hands‑on experience in client management and writing user stories or functional specifications.
Experience with tools such as Postman, Splunk, and Dynatrace.
Experience working with databases such as PostgreSQL and Oracle.
Strong experience in API specification writing and data mapping.
Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
Ability to work collaboratively across multiple Scrum teams and stakeholders.
