Base pay range: $137,500.00/yr - $261,000.00/yr

This is a hybrid role including in office and remote working days. Must be resident or relocatable to the Irvine, CA area.

Job Description

The Associate Director supports commercial aspects of the new product pipeline and the overall franchise strategy for the PRM business within Allergan Aesthetics, including next‑generation Tissue Expander, next‑generation breast implants, and novel regenerative platform technologies. The role is a key contributor that develops a pipeline strategy delivering business growth, drives category leadership, and optimizes portfolio value. The Associate Director is the commercial lead and represents the customer voice at cross‑functional core team meetings involving Tissue Management Science, Product Development, Clinical, Medical Affairs, Quality, Regulatory, Health Economics Outcomes Research, and Global Access & Pricing Reimbursement.

Identifies Voice‑of‑Customer (VOC) needs, develops a VOC strategy, and leverages market research, competitive intelligence, and KOL insights to inform and evolve strategy.

Provides commercial insights to the R&D team to ensure the development strategy matches customer needs for future commercialization success.

Manages diverse and complex medical devices requiring prioritization of multiple product features and attributes.

Understands and supports clinical studies to optimize promotional and economic claims.

Develops close working relationships with R&D, regulatory/legal, medical affairs, clinical, GMAP, HEOR, market research, operations, downstream marketing, and key opinion leaders, bringing together the best of the business to drive results in a heavily matrixed environment.

Supports handover to downstream marketing through development of early brand plans and early commercialization strategies, including positioning, key claim, and branding.

Maintains a comprehensive understanding of consumer and physician needs, plastic surgery category and market trends, competitive landscape, technology trends, and identifies and assesses significant portfolio and franchise‑specific growth opportunities.

Has experience with medical devices and surgical devices, ideally within plastic surgery.

Attends OR surgeries to build deep expertise of plastic surgery procedures as necessary.

Qualifications

Solid understanding and experience of different stages of the product life cycle, including product launch.

Ability to prioritize commercial opportunities across the portfolio and develop integrated, long‑term strategies for capturing maximum commercial value.

Proven ability to collaborate and work cross‑functionally, leveraging strong interpersonal skills in a matrixed organization.

Results orientation, with the ability to independently create and execute plans that deliver on strategic goals.

Creative and conceptual problem‑solving skills, and analytical expertise.

Strong people leadership skills, including management of colleagues with diverse experience/functional expertise.

Strong communicator, with excellent oral, written, and presentation skills.

The compensation range described below is the base range the Company believes in good faith it will pay for this role at the time of posting. Individual compensation within this range will depend on many factors including geographic location.
