Data Analyst

As a
Data Analyst at The Guestbook , you’ll transform raw data into actionable insights that drive smarter decisions across our platform — from personalized guest rewards to marketing optimization and financial performance.
We’re a small, agile team that values creativity, curiosity, and clear storytelling through data. You’ll have the opportunity to own analyses end-to-end — from data modeling and warehouse design to building interactive dashboards that inform strategy and measure impact.

What You’ll Be Doing
Design, build, and maintain
Tableau dashboards and reports
that visualize key metrics across Product, Marketing, and Finance.
Develop and maintain
data models using dbt (data build tool)
to create clean, reliable, and reusable analytics layers.
Manage and optimize
data pipelines and workflows
between internal systems, cloud databases, and analytics tools.
Work extensively with
data warehouses
such as
BigQuery, Snowflake, or Redshift
to organize and query large-scale datasets.
Analyze user, booking, and financial data to identify patterns, forecast trends, and drive revenue and retention improvements.
Collaborate with Finance and Operations teams to
track and automate financial reporting
using tools like
FreshBooks .
Work cross-functionally with the Finance, Partner Success, Product, and Engineering teams to ensure data insights are directly tied to broader business objectives.
Partner with data engineers and business leaders to ensure data accuracy, governance, and accessibility
across the organization.
Translate analytical findings into
insightful visualizations and actionable recommendations
that inform strategic decisions.
What You’ll Bring to The Guestbook
2+ years of experience in
data analysis, business intelligence, or analytics engineering
roles.
Advanced expertise in
Tableau , including dashboard design, calculated fields, and visual storytelling.
Strong proficiency in
SQL
and experience querying large datasets in
BigQuery, Snowflake, or Redshift .
Hands-on experience with
dbt
for building modular, documented, and version-controlled data models.
Experience integrating data across business and financial tools, including
FreshBooks
or similar platforms.
Familiarity with
Python or R
for data manipulation and advanced analysis.
Strong understanding of
data visualization best practices , ensuring clarity, accuracy, and performance.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate data into business insights for non-technical audiences.
Nice to Haves
Experience integrating Tableau dashboards with
predictive or AI-powered analytics .
Familiarity with
ETL/ELT tools
such as Fivetran or Stitch.
Knowledge of
A/B testing, segmentation, and customer lifetime value analysis .
Exposure to
LLMs or generative AI applications
for reporting or data summarization.
Background in
hospitality, travel tech, or e-commerce analytics .
