Civil Engineer or Senior Design Technician — Commercial Site Development

What you’ll do

Develop complete civil plan sets for commercial sites
Grading plans
Utility plans and details
Drainage and stormwater management reports
Plan and profiles for water, sewer, and paving
Prepare exhibits, calculations, and technical memos to support entitlements and permitting
Coordinate with municipalities, review agencies, and utility providers to address comments and secure approvals
Work directly with surveyors, geotechs, architects, and contractors to align design and constructability
Perform quantity takeoffs and assist with bidding support as needed
Maintain CAD standards and project file organization
What you’ll bring
5+ years of experience in commercial site design at a civil consultant or developer
Proficiency in AutoCAD Civil 3D for grading, corridors, profiles, and pipe networks
Strong understanding of hydrology and hydraulics, detention design, and low-impact development best practices
Working knowledge of municipal design criteria, fire access requirements, and development review processes
Clear, concise communication and comfort leading coordination with outside stakeholders
Self-direction in a lean team environment and the ability to drive tasks to completion
Nice to have
EIT or PE license, or active progress toward licensure
Experience preparing drainage reports and using tools such as HydroCAD, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, or ICPR
Familiarity with permitting paths such as site plan, platting, and building permit sequencing
Experience with cost estimating and value engineering for site civil scopes
