Igus in Rumford, RI is currently searching for a Quality Engineer to join the team! The Quality Engineer's responsibilities include inspecting materials, equipment, processes, and products, developing quality control systems, and determining corrective actions. You will also work with the team to implement quality measures and manage quality KPIs.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

Communicate with Customers on Quality problems, information (data / reports), and coordinate and/or resolve those issues in a professional, timely manner with all personnel.

Responsible for coordinating and resolving Quality related issues as they arise on the manufacturing floor (utilize SPC & Defect management systems).

Responsible for establishing Quality Control Plans based on Customer prints and quality procedures for acceptance.

Responsible for Statistical Analysis using Company databases. Report findings and recommendations for Corrective Action to the Business Unit Operations Manager and the Operations Team.

Quarantine suspect / defective parts from the product that meets customer specifications & requirements.

Facilitate corrective action and improvement teams when assigned and identify high-cost quality problems. Notify the Management Team with your results.

Issue and follow up on Quality alerts for customer complaints

Report all customer concerns/complaints to the Operations Manager and the appropriate Dept. Team members in a timely manner.

Knowledge of ISO and IPC requirements.

Ensure product containment practices are being followed.

Participate in System, ISO, and Customer Audits.

Available for Customer / Supplier visits.

Participate in MRB meetings.

Maintain quality data and analysis of data for trends and initiating corrective actions.

Ensure calibrated and preventative maintenance instruments are being used and report any discrepancies.

Facilitate First Article Inspection processes.

Skills And Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree

5-7 Years experience as a Quality Engineer with 3-5 years in a Manufacturing environment – Equivalent combinations of education and experience will be considered in lieu of degree requirement.

Superb computer competence, including database management

Knowledge of quality assurance terminology, methods, and tools

Analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills

Demonstrated knowledge of testing best practices

Preferred Qualifications

Professional certifications, such as Six Sigma, Quality Engineer, Quality Auditor, or IPC-620

Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred

Understanding of Agile/Scrum methodology and how QA functions within it
