We are developing the future of Army Aviation with the Bell Future Long-Range Assault Aircraft (FLRAA), part of the US Army’s Future Vertical Lift (FVL) modernization effort. We are also developing the Bell 525 Relentless, and Bell's High-Speed Vertical Take-Off and Landing (HSVTOL) program, a next generation stop‑fold aircraft.

This position is onsite in Fort Worth, TX.

Propulsion Analysis, MV-75 >

Bell is seeking a team‑oriented Propulsion Systems Technical Lead to join Bell’s MV-75, FLRAA (Future Long‑Range Assault Aircraft) team. The individual will support the design, development, qualification, and flight test of the FLRAA aircraft. You’ll work with a diverse team of engineers designing and analyzing propulsion systems, including gas turbine engines, FADECs, inlets and exhausts.

What you’ll be doing as a Propulsion Systems Technical Lead

Mentor propulsion systems engineers through tasking and reviews to create an efficient and effective team environment

Develop propulsion systems requirements, architectures, and interfaces

Coordinate across internal IPTs and with propulsion system suppliers in the development, integration and test of propulsion system components

Develop overall propulsion system and software integration including activities such as system specifications, interface management, system safety assessment, validation and verification testing in systems integration labs, aircraft flight test, and aircraft/system qualification and certification.

Support all phases of development from initial proposal development through successful design, qualification, integration testing, flight test, and production.

Provide status on system activities and the impact they have on other IPTs

Skills You Bring to this Role

Specific experience with some or all of the following:

1‑D engine cycle analysis using NPSS

1‑D and 3‑D CFD analysis of aircraft bays (thermal and internal aero)

Qualification to standards such as MIL-STD-810, MIL-STD-883, MIL-STD-461, MIL-STD-464, RTCA DO-178, RTCA DO-160 and/or RTCA DO-254

Data protocols such as MIL-STD-1553, ARIN 429, AFDX and/or TSN

Creation of subsystem and component specifications, interface control documents, and test plans/procedures

Creation of system architecture and system schematics

Ability to take ambiguous direction and create actionable steps for Propulsion System team members

Ability to prioritize work, strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with a team player mindset.

Excellent communicator, must be able to build and maintain effective relationships with customers, internal and external suppliers, and brief leaders/customers.

Familiarity with System Safety Assessments and/or Failure Hazard Analysis

Familiarity with the development of requirements to drive testing at the component, subsystem, systems integration lab, and/or flight test environments

What you need to be successful

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or related degree. Related degrees with relevant experience will be considered.

At least 10+ years of engineering experience with Propulsion Systems, preferably within Aerospace industry
