Role Description
ACFM, a Generon IGS company, is a leading Distributor, Authorized Packager and Repair Center for RootsBlowers, Centrifugal Blowers, Regenerative Blowers and Vacuum Pumps located in Northwest Houston. We serve a broad range of applications, including wastewater treatment, pneumatic conveying, power generation, and process gases. Our focus is on providing technical expertise, reliable equipment, and responsive service to our customers.
Key Responsibilities
System Design & Drafting: Develop detailed 3D models and drawings for blower packages, skid-mounted systems, and related equipment. Create finite element analysis to validate structural design. Create fabrication layout and assembly drawings, P&ID drawings, and general arrangement drawings. Support fabrication and assembly teams with accurate design documentation.
Application Engineering: Evaluate customer specifications and process requirements to select and size positive displacement blowers and related components. Prepare technical proposals, including performance data, equipment lists, and pricing. Support the sales team with technical input during quotation and order phases. Create purchase orders when needed. Create technical documentation and user manuals, databook and IO&M manuals. Collaborate with the project manager for project execution (assembly team assistance). Create ITPs for blower packages, fabrication schedule as required.
Project Support: Coordinate with vendors, customers, and internal departments to ensure timely delivery of engineered systems. Review project submittals and ensure compliance with applicable codes and standards. Review specifications and work with customer’s engineering departments throughout the project, providing technical updates and attending regular meetings. Assist with start‑up support and troubleshooting when required. Assist sales and service team when troubleshooting a customer request. Assist service manager with in‑house projects for repairs. Contribute to standardization of design templates and drawing libraries. Recommend improvements to enhance design efficiency and product reliability.
Qualifications Education
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
Associate degree with relevant experience will also be considered.
Experience
2–5 years of experience in an engineering or technical role within industrial equipment, rotating machinery, or blower systems.
Proficiency in Autodesk Inventor (3D modeling required) & AutoCAD (2D).
Experience with positive displacement blowers, vacuum pumps, or compressed air systems is highly desirable.
Skills
Strong understanding of mechanical and structural design principles, fluid and thermodynamics, and system integration.
Excellent communication skills for working with customers, vendors, and internal teams.
Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast‑paced environment.
Attention to detail, managing timelines, resources, and project deliverables on a regular basis.
Proficient in Microsoft Office.
Experience working with purchasing software or QuickBooks is a plus.
