Base pay range $200,000.00/yr - $225,000.00/yr

A multi-energy company is looking for an experienced attorney with at least five years of relevant legal practice to join their Legal team supporting the Renewables business. This role will primarily focus on mergers and acquisitions (M&A), corporate governance, renewable energy finance (including tax equity), and shareholder engagement following asset rotations.

The ideal candidate will possess deep transactional and corporate law expertise, a strong grasp of renewable energy finance structures, and the ability to collaborate effectively across teams in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

Leading and advising on legal aspects of M&A transactions, joint ventures, and strategic investments in the renewables sector.

Drafting, reviewing, and negotiating a variety of corporate and transactional agreements, including purchase, shareholder, and operating agreements.

Managing entity formation, corporate records, resolutions, and governance documentation.

Supporting tax equity transactions through structuring, negotiation, and documentation.

Acting as the legal liaison with new shareholders post-asset rotation to ensure smooth transitions and compliance with shareholder agreements.

Advising on corporate structure, regulatory compliance, and risk mitigation strategies.

Collaborating with internal teams such as finance, development, operations, and external counsel.

Handling additional legal tasks and projects as needed.

Qualifications

Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA‑accredited law school.

Minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible legal experience in the renewable energy sector, with a focus on M&A, corporate law, and finance.

Familiarity with tax equity structures and shareholder relations is preferred.

Strong communication skills and the ability to provide strategic legal advice to business leaders.

Demonstrated organizational and time‑management abilities.

High attention to detail and accuracy.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Proficiency in MS Office Suite and other relevant legal software.

Sound judgment, integrity, and decision‑making capabilities.

Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.

Strong analytical and monitoring skills.

Proactive, adaptable, and collaborative team player.
