General Manager Overview The General Manager is responsible for setting a positive culture within the restaurant, running a profitable restaurant, building guest counts, and ensuring the restaurant meets McDonald’s critical customer standards of Quality, Service, and Cleanliness. We believe we have two types of guests with us every day: those who dine in front of the counter, and employees who are our guests behind the counter. Having an inviting and positive culture ensures all guests are welcome. The General Manager is our culture ambassador and works with his/her leader to set the restaurant’s goals, create a plan to achieve those goals, and work through the team to execute the plan to win.
This individual develops and leads a team of Department Managers with specific responsibilities across all dayparts in the restaurant, helping them set their own goals, following up on progress, and providing coaching and direction. By improving the departments, the restaurant improves. The General Manager is also responsible for hiring and developing Department and Shift Managers to ensure the restaurant has the right team to lead into the future.

Responsibilities
Know, execute, and adapt to new and existing System Maps.
Effectively manage P&Ls and seek efficiencies to drive toward company goals.
Lead team (Crew, Shift Leaders, and Department Leaders) toward meeting defined performance goals.
Hiring, scheduling & team development.
Labor / TPPH.
Food cost & food over base.
Planned maintenance (M&R).
Voice & guest reviews.
PAC (Profit After Controllables).
Field visits / inspections.
Monthly shift leader meetings; report monthly sales performance and develop action plans with supervisors.
Bi‑weekly 1:1 with supervisor and/or owner/operator to discuss performance, action items, and needed resources.
