About the Company
Join a growing organization as a Payroll Manager and take the lead in driving payroll accuracy, compliance, and innovation on a direct hire basis.
About the Role You will have the opportunity to improve systems, refine processes, and develop a high-performing payroll team that supports the organization’s ongoing expansion. The Payroll Manager will serve as the subject matter expert for payroll policies, technology, and compliance, partnering closely with HR, accounting, and leadership.
Responsibilities
Manage semi-monthly, monthly, and weekly payroll cycles for employees across multiple states.
Ensure accurate calculation and timely payment of employee wages, benefits, and taxes.
Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local tax and wage laws.
Lead and mentor the payroll team through coaching, training, and performance management.
Develop and maintain payroll policies, procedures, and internal controls.
Drive automation and process improvement through payroll systems and analytics tools.
Collaborate with HR and Accounting to ensure alignment on benefits, reporting, and reconciliations.
Provide payroll and compensation reporting for leadership and audit purposes.
Maintain confidentiality of payroll data and ensure compliance with data protection standards.
Support special projects and process improvement initiatives to advance payroll operations.
Qualifications
10-15 years of hands‑on payroll experience with 5 years in management.
Solid understanding of multi‑state payroll, tax laws, and wage/hour regulations.
Advanced proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word; Power BI experience a plus.
Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and compliance.
Excellent communication and leadership skills.
