Position Overview Northrop Grumman Space Systems is seeking a Systems Engineer – Level 3 to support the Space Base Interceptor (SBI) effort, a program developing a proliferated low Earth orbit (pLEO) constellation of interceptors integrated with Ground Control, Fire Control, and data transport systems.

Key Responsibilities

Develop, decompose, refine, and document key requirements and capabilities.

Support overall system‑level end‑to‑end performance assessments and lead resolution of performance gaps.

Collaborate with senior systems engineers and other disciplines to support development of deliverables.

Generate and document system‑level requirements, perform vehicle performance assessments, and participate in system‑level verification and data‑review activities.

Manage requirement changes in the Requirements Management databases and coordinate approvals.

Create and manage specification/interface definition documents and oversee peer review and approval processes.

Support risk management and identify potential risks.

Manage aspects of system design, analyses, interface verification, testing, minor failure/anomaly resolution, or mission operations.

Participate in creation and management of system or subsystem analytical models.

Support the development and execution of technical reviews for the program.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in a STEM discipline with 5 years of related engineering experience; or Master’s degree with 3 years; or PhD with 1 year.

U.S. Citizenship required.

U.S. DoD Interim Secret security clearance, or higher, at the time of application.

Ability to communicate technical information clearly to both technical and non‑technical personnel.

Demonstrated experience in requirements decomposition, validation, and verification.

Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment with competing demands.

Strong technical problem‑solving, written, and verbal communication skills.

Strong resolve to drive tasks to completion autonomously.

Knowledgeable about agile principles and demonstrated ability to facilitate an agile development process.

Preferred Qualifications

MBSE experience (e.g., Cameo or similar).

U.S. DoD Secret security clearance, or higher.

Compensation and Benefits Primary Level Salary Range: $95,300 ‑ $142,900, with additional overtime, shift differential, discretionary bonuses, and potential long‑term incentives for senior roles. Benefits include health insurance, life and disability insurance, savings plan, paid holidays, and paid time off.
