Animal Care & Research Support Associate
Join Pfizer as an Animal Care & Research Support Associate. This role is based in New London County, CT, and involves providing essential husbandry, handling, restraint, and health surveillance of laboratory animals in compliance with regulatory requirements.

What You Will Achieve The Technical Associate’s primary responsibility is to provide basic husbandry, handling, restraint and health surveillance of laboratory animals.
You will also maintain inventory of animal supplies and assist with technical tasks such as injections, blood collections, and dose administration.
How You Will Achieve It
Perform all regulatory responsibilities in compliance with applicable standards.
Complete routine animal husbandry duties as directed.
Observe and report animal health, food and water consumption, appearance, and behavior.
Support basic veterinary medical treatment as prescribed by veterinary staff.
Maintain cage wash equipment operations and support maintenance.
Assist research investigators with restraint and dose administration.
Work with all species housed at the site.
Adhere to USDA Animal Welfare Act, Guide for the Care and Use of Laboratory Animals, Good Laboratory Practices, PHS Policy and/or AAALAC accreditation standards.
Qualifications – Must-Have
High school degree or GED required.
2–4 years of relevant experience.
Physical/Mental Requirements
Must lift 50 pounds and stand for extended periods while lifting items above shoulder level.
Perform repetitive physical activities such as moving caging racks, lifting bags of feed and bedding, stretching, stooping, and bending.
At primate sites, provide proof of measles immunity or receive measles vaccination before hire.
Non-Standard Work Schedule, Travel or Environment Requirements
Weekend and holiday work required.
Daily interactions with Facility Managers, CM Veterinary staff, and other CM Technicians; close supervision by senior staff.
Essential personnel: required onsite during emergencies or business suspension as defined by Pfizer.

Work Location Assignment: On Premise
Salary ranges from $26.34 to $43.89 per hour, with overtime and weekend pay premiums available. Comprehensive benefits include 401(k) with Pfizer matching and additional contributions, paid vacation, holiday and personal days, caregiver/parental leave, and health coverage (medical, prescription drug, dental, vision). Relocation assistance may be available based on business needs and eligibility.
