Scope of Eligibility
Open to applicants who meet the requirements below.
Description
Under close supervision, the Environmental Engineer assists in routine surveys, studies, inspections, and investigations to improve and monitor environmental conditions; reviews engineering plans; gathers data and researches and analyzes information in enforcement of environmental laws and regulations; performs related duties as required.
Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Chemical, Mechanical, Environmental, Ocean, Coastal, Bio-Resource, Biomedical, Sanitary, Industrial, Agricultural, or Mining Engineering, or related environmental engineering field; or EIT certification with FE exam results in the discipline.
All U.S. degrees and transcripts must be from an accredited college or university; foreign degrees must be evaluated for accreditation by a recognized service by the closing date.
Proof of EIT certification and FE exam results must be submitted.
License
Appointees must possess a valid New Jersey driver’s license if vehicle operation is necessary for essential duties.
SAME Applicants
If applying under the NJ SAME program, submit supporting documents (Schedule A or B letter) with your resume by the closing date.
Veteran's Preference
Applicants must establish Veteran’s Preference through the Department of Military and Veteran's Affairs and submit proof with their resume.
Residency
All newly hired employees must establish and maintain principal residence in New Jersey within one year of employment.
